JUST MUSIC series - vol 46

Genre: ambient, experimental

(testo italiano più sotto)
When my uncle and personal photography teacher Domenico “Sem” Semeraro sent me a series of photos of the sea, a lot of music formed in my mind: there’s always something about a vast body of water that makes us feel attracted to its waves... Maybe it’s true we come from the sea, and on some unconscious level we know it. Or maybe what attracts us it’s just its mysteries, or its sounds, or the almost too obvious metaphor of our innermost depths that it represents. Whatever the reason, these photos guided me throughout the composition and recording of the music you can now listen to. These tracks are definitely about the depths of our souls and minds.

The closing track - “It’s never summer” - was originally recorded for one of the awesome Ambient Online compilations (available on Bandcamp, find them here: ambientonline.bandcamp.com/music ). However, I did find the inspiration to record it while watching these very photos, so it seemed only fair to allow it to come back home.

P.S.: maybe you won't even like it, but I do think the title track - Remote Waves, an improvisation in real time, just one track, no overdubs or editing - is one of my finest pieces to date.

Versione italiana:
