THE STORY:
It's the year 1983. After the great war that killed 90% of the population, a united government is set up by the survivors. Initially it seemed good, but slowly at first and at an increasing rate later, it creates ways to exploit the very population it was supposed to serve. Many are driven to suicide by the incessant abuse of the government, whose only goal is to take everything from the people. It is now forbidden for groups of more than two or three individuals to meet, for fear of an organized revolution. Technology is forbidden, especially any kind of device that would allow people to communicate. Only the government and its men can use it, and they do use it, along with violence and a twisted form of law, against the population. Every person can be arrested and every house can be searched, if the government suspects somebody is keeping any possessions from them. Rebellion seems impossible, as organizing one is made so. However, there's one thing the government doesn't know: there are some people who do not need any devices to communicate, as the radiation the war filled the planet with caused an unexpected mutation in some individuals. They can now communicate with each other mentally. Their minds are the only place where the government cannot enter, and now the revolution can finally be organized...

THE INSTRUMENT:
This album was entirely recorded using only "Rayblaster," a peculiar vst synth by Tone2 (you can find it here www.tone2.com ). It might take a little while to get the hang of it, but it's worth it: when you do, its original architecture opens a wide range of unique possibilities. Working with it got me onto unusual sonic paths that resulted in this album, inspired by the visions of a dystopian future imagined by sci-fi movies in the 80's. Except for a few instances, no external effects were used to alter the sounds, what you hear is what you get. Thank you to Tone2 for allowing me to work with this instrument!

LA TRAMA:
E' l'anno 1983. Dopo la grande guerra che ha sterminato il 90% della popolazione, un governo unito viene creato dai sopravvissuti. Inizialmente sembrava positivo, ma dapprima lentamente e poi sempre più rapidamente, esso crea modi per sfruttare la popolazione che avrebbe dovuto servire. Molti vengono spinti al suicidio dagli incessanti abusi del governo, il cui solo scopo è di portare via alla gente tutto quello che ha. E' ora proibito ritrovarsi ai gruppi di più di due o tre persone, per paura che una rivoluzione venga organizzata. La tecnologia è proibita, specialmente qualsiasi tipo di apparecchio che consentirebbe di comunicare a distanza. Solo il governo ed i suoi uomini possono usarla, ed è quello che fanno, insieme alla violenza e ad una pervertita forma di legge che usano contro la popolazione. Tutti possono venire arrestati ed ogni casa perquisita, se il governo sospetta che qualcuno stia nascondendo degli averi invece di consegnarli a loro. La ribellione sembra impossibile, in quanto organizzarla viene reso tale. Eppure c'è una cosa che il governo non sa: ci sono persone che non hanno bisogno di nessun apparecchio per comunicare, in quanto le radiazioni di cui la guerra ha riempito il pianeta hanno causato un'inaspettata mutazione in alcuni individui. Essi possono ora comunicare gli uni con gli altri mentalmente. Le loro menti sono l'unico posto dove il governo non può entrare, ed ora la rivoluzione può finalmente essere organizzata...

LO STRUMENTO:
Quest'album è stato interamente realizzato utilizzando unicamente "Rayblaster," un peculiare sintetizzatore vst realizzato dalla Tone2 (potete trovarlo qui www.tone2.com ). Ci vuole un po' prima di afferrarne il funzionamento, ma ne vale la pena: quando finalmente si riesce a domarlo, la sua originale architettura apre un ampio spettro di possibilità sonore piuttosto uniche. Lavorare con esso mi ha messo su sentieri sonori inusuali che sono sfociati in questo album, ispirato dalle visioni di un futuro distopico immaginate dai film di fantascienza degli anni '80. Tranne per qualche istanza, nessun effetto esterno è stato usato per alterare i suoni, quello che sentite è quello che esce dal synth. Grazie a Tone2 per avermi permesso di lavorare con questo strumento!
